The Story

Fifty Years On Stage, And Still Going

Andy Charney — better known behind the sparkle as The Amazing Andy — first stepped in front of a crowd in 1972, at eleven years old, and never really stepped off. Since then he's brought his blend of close-up magic, sleight-of-hand card tricks, juggling, and balloon artistry to birthday parties, school assemblies, day camps, libraries, and town festivals throughout the Northeast.

No two shows are the same, but every one is built around the same idea: get the whole room — kids and grown-ups both — laughing, gasping, and asking "how'd he do that?" Ask any parent which moment gets the loudest reaction, and it's almost always the same one: his rabbit, appearing from the trick box at the finale.

Before You Reach Out

A Few Quick Answers

Do you accept credit cards?

Cash and check only — checks made out to Andrew Charney. No card reader, no processing fees, just a straightforward deal.

How long is a typical show?

Most shows run about 45–60 minutes, but Andy can shorten or stretch it to fit your schedule — just mention your timeframe when you reach out.

What ages is the show good for?

It's built to work for a mixed room — from little kids through grown-ups — so it's a good fit for birthday parties, school assemblies, camps, and family events alike.

Do we need to provide anything — space, an outlet?

Just a clear area for Andy to perform in, indoors or out. If anything in the act needs an outlet, he'll let you know ahead of time — otherwise, no special setup required.

Do you book for schools, libraries, or organizations — not just parties?

Yes, regularly. Beyond birthday parties, Andy performs for school assemblies, libraries, day camps, town festivals, and organized groups like Scout troops. Content is family-friendly and adjusts to fit a bigger, more mixed-age crowd — just let him know it's an institutional booking when you reach out.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner the better, especially for weekends during busy seasons — but reach out even if your event is coming up soon, and Andy will let you know if the date's open.

Do you travel outside Connecticut?

Yes — Andy regularly performs throughout the Northeast, including New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Just mention your location when you reach out.

What if our event is outdoors?

Outdoor shows are no problem — just let Andy know ahead of time so he can plan around weather and space.
